Major Project - Research#3 - Shape|Sketch

Friday, 24 February 2012
Found a wonderful book. A lot of useful things not only for the eye, but for the mind too.
I'm going to take gothic architecture as a base, but instead of sculptures and columns of specific period I'm going to take bones, sculptures of famine...

Sketch#1
I will try to push this idea as further as I can. I also decided that after I design the whole structure I'm going to damage it and make a lot of decays, because the Famine should be a sick, unhealthy person, almost dying.

I also had an idea about environment. The burned fields, farms and died trees could work really well. First of all,  burned fields tell us about Famine. Secondly, the burned things are black and the horseman's color is also black.

Major Project - Research #2 - Zdzislaw Beksinski

Artist: Zdzislaw Beksinski

Next picture is a 3d copy of the Beksinski's work made by Aram Vardazaryan. I decided to put it here too.

Major Project - Research #1

Famine

I thought that idea to use bottow jaw as a structure for the castle might work. Also sculptures of African children can be applied to the architecture.

Ideas and directions

Tuesday, 21 February 2012
Architecture

- must not be massive and fundamental
- Thin, bone structured
- The gate can be represented by big skeleton mouth
- Sculptures of the hungry children might also work

Surrounding
- burned and devastated millet* fields
- burned farms and structures

Major Project

Wednesday, 15 February 2012
Nothing. Still nothing. I spoke with Alan and he decided that the most appropriate project for me would be illustration. Well, I think I agreed with him.
Yes Illustration. The goal will be to express simple idea in one still 3d image. I'm reading books, looking different art and trying to find something. In other words - still nothing.

Attic Environment

Refined the old work, added details and changed textures, but without fanaticism. I'm going to include this piece in my future Demoreel.

Mudbox - Introduction

Thursday, 2 February 2012
It was interesting introduction. A little bit unprofessional (but who says?), but still I enjoyed the class.
The Mudbox is good sculpting|texturing tool , however, I haven't seen any advantages if compared to Zbrush. I would say there are disadvantages. I believe when I learn more about Mudbox my attitude will change eventually.

Here is some creepy environment detail. No back and side views, because when I tried to save, mudbox has crashed.
