Things that I don't like, things that I need to change.

1. Scale. The entrance is small at the moment, because of the sculls, which give us this feeling.
2. Holes in the sacrum, something I don't like about them. Maybe I'm paranoid a little bit.
3. I don't like stretching in the sacrum, where is the transition between lower and upper body.

Spend too much time on the stairs. Still not satisfied. However, it works for the Famine look. And we will not see close up of this anyway.

Entrance. I can feel something Famine about it. The base idea for the pattern is a rib cage.

Used  Approximation editor to avoid stretching on the edges.

A few trees will be on the background, I also going to use them for the shadows on the foreground.

Major Project - Environment final thoughts

I wanted to create interesting environment with the interesting mountains on the background. However, I decided that I need something simple. Here I made few screenshots of environment from the Game of  Thrones ( I recommend to read it and watch it )



So basically this is what I want to achieve. However, I might add dry river, because it will give feeling that this place was alive. Also, few dead trees can support atmosphere.

Alright, enough talking.

I decided to make it black. However, changes are possible! It took me one day to make, but I've learnt many new things. (2,3 and pre-last attempts are failed because of the computer problems [physical dump errors - graphic card] and I'm still excited and positive - amazing!)

According to my measures. The tower consists of 28 people. If we take average human being size about 175cm then the size of the tower is 49meters. And the one detail of the tentacle has half-human size.

I want to set up final scale before I go and start Zbrush fun.

The initial idea was to use scale for the tentacle shape. However, I tried to use spinal vertebra and it gave me a satisfied result. I'm not sure about scale. They are meant to be big - because I need big ground holes. But large scale doesn't look right, especially on the structure behind.

Solved.
Made it smaller. Will use instancer to make piles of skulls and bones near the main tentacle to show scale.
