Trying to find a best look for the side view. Solid ribs coming from the vertebra or make separate parts and make them stick out.
I prefer more solid ribs. They give completeness to the structure. This look is more architectural. And the connection logic of the sticky-out structures isn't clear.

Hey Alex - hope you're feeling better - it's actually hard to know the exact question you're asking here; instinctively - the sticky-out sections look as if they're going to promote more interest, but I can't be sure from this angle - how about asking the question again but with some alternate views to aid any judgement?
