A young Pushkin, by Xavier De Maistre. Oil on metal plate. 1800-1802.
I think this portrait trying to say us, that indentity is young and undeveloped. White shirt symbolizes purity and innocence.

Portrait by Tropinin. 1826
This image shows warm, intimate. It's humane. And it has symbols of his passion. The sheets at hands. This portrait was made for a friend S.Sobolevskij. He looks into the distance. He still remains a romantic novelist, impulsive. I feel a spring inside him which soon will become straight.

William Henry Johnson (American, 1901-1970), self-portrait, 1929, Smithsonian Museum of American Art, Washington, D.C.

I liked it.Can't explain why and even say what does it mean. Suffering I feel in this picture.
Touched me.
