You must stay drunk on writing so reality cannot destroy you. ~Ray Bradbury

"The Night Of The Hunter".

The story isn't new for me, OF COURSE IT ISN'T - IT IS 1955 !, but I liked it.

The story takes place in the 1930s.

The father of two children is sentenced for a crime. Before he is caught he hides the stolen money - only his children know where are they. A serial killer and self-appointed preacher with the word "LOVE" tattooed on the knuckles of his right hand and "HATE" on the knuckles of his left, shares a prison cell with father"hero". Serial killer heard that his co-prisoner spoke about money in his sleep. He tried to convince him to tell where is the money before execution. But only clue he has got was the Biblical quote "And a child shall lead them."...

The actors play wasn't perfect, I saw better, but I liked few characters, especially preacher. The coldblooded killer, almost without any emotions. Smart, clever and fanatic. Played well.

Few scenes which affected me strongly. The marriage of Preacher and children's mother. I despise those men who strikes women, children and old people. I wanted to kill, that bastard.
The mother-woman who sheltered pure kids and like lioness protected them, before the face of the danger. I am very proud, that in our world there is women like this film character.

Generally, very interesting film. Set thinking about different things which happened in our life. I didn't find anything strange about this film. Interesting story which didn't left you indifferent.
I recommend to watch.

p.s. I'm eager to watch "Edward Scissorhands". One of the best films I ever seen.
